What’s happening in Lethbridge this weekend: September 16, 2022

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Looking to get out into the community this week? Keep busy with all the events taking place around Lethbridge this weekend.

Lethbridge College is inviting residents to come out for Coulee Fest from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Coulee Fest is a free family-friendly event that features live music and entertainment, food trucks, a vendor market, and a beer garden. Music performances include, Hailey Benedict, Lemon Cash, the Plaid Ramblers and The Band Formerly Known as Karen, Lewis and Pam.

For sports fans, the Lethbridge Community Stadium at the University of Lethbridge is hosting a Horns Triple Header on Saturday. Starting at 12:00 p.m. the Pronghorn women’s soccer team will kick-off the day of collegiate sport, followed by the men’s soccer team taking to the pitch two hours later. If soccer isn’t enough action for you, the women’s rugby team will play at 7:00 p.m. following a tailgate party. The tailgate begins at 4:30 p.m. and wraps up just before the rugby game starts, and will feature music, games, a concession, swag, and more.

Need something a little more relaxed? Celebrate everything to do with reading at the 11th annual Word on The Street Festival from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Lethbridge Public Library Main Branch. This event will feature a number of authors, book vendors, live music, and family-friendly activities. Word on The Street is free to attend, and drivers should expect detours near the library, as 5 Avenue and 8 Street South will be closed around the library.

Looking to exercise for a cause? Head to Legacy park in north Lethbridge for the 42nd annual Terry Fox Run on Sunday, September 18, 2022. Registration opens at 9:00 a.m. with the ceremony and run starting an hour later. Participants can enjoy onsite entertainment and food trucks before and after the run. Anyone interested in running or making a donation can do so on the Terry Fox Run website.

Last but not least, the Windy City Tattoo Show is taking place at Exhibition Park this weekend starting on Friday, September 16, and wrapping up on Sunday, September 18, 2022. The event will feature dozens of tattoo artists, live performances and more. More information can be found on the Lethbridge Tattoo Show website.
