LETHBRIDGE, AB – Dozens of members of the Lethbridge College Kodiaks are being recognized.

A total of 42 student-athletes earned Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Scholar honours.

Only the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) had more honourees among schools in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.

Lethbridge College Athletics and Recreation Services Manager Todd Caughlin says he is proud of the organization and the student-athletes who are part of it.

“Academic accountability is the first of our three pillars of success, along with community involvement and athletic excellence,” says Caughlin. “Having this many student-athletes earning National Scholar recognition speaks volumes about how our Kodiaks take care of business in the classroom and on the court.”

Every Kodiaks program had multiple CCAA National Scholar honourees. The women’s and men’s volleyball teams had the most at eight each.

Samantha Demchuk was recognized in both the women’s basketball and soccer categories.
