Cardston man charged in connection with assault at Chinook Regional Hospital

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is investigating an incident at Chinook Regional Hospital.

Officers responded to the Lethbridge facility at around 11:44 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022 on a report that an emergency room nurse had been assaulted by a patient.

The LPS says the suspect, who had been brought in for treatment by EMS, choked, assaulted and threatened to kill a female nurse. EMS and a Peace Officer intervened to stop the assault, and the suspect was taken into custody by hospital security before police arrived.

Jolt Jessen Black Water, 18, of Cardston, is charged with assault by choking, assault, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
