LETHBRIDGE, AB – The City of Lethbridge 311 service, which initially launched in 2019, is now launching its live chat service on the City of Lethbridge website.

The live 311chat function has been in beta testing for the past few weeks with moderate success.

In 2022 so far, Lethbridge 311 has received over 100,000 calls, and the service has received 344,250 inquiries since it first launched in March 2019.

Mayor Blaine Hyggen said about the launch, “I am thrilled that we are able to offer a new, convenient way for residents to get answers to their questions about City services. Expanding on an already reliable and valuable service in our community will allow residents to get the answers they need and will help inform Council on residents’ thoughts about City programs and services.”

Lethbridge residents can access this service through:

  • Calling 311 (or 403-320-3111 outside city limits)
  • Live chat at 311.lethbridge.ca
  • In person at Lethbridge City Hall

City officials say more changes to the 311 service are expected. Travis Hillier, general manager of customer service and 311 said, “Shortly after launching 311 in 2019, we began looking for what’s next, looking for other ways to better serve our residents.”

Hillier says the next plans to further improve the 311 service will include adding a self-service kiosk inside City Hall, and other services will be added based on the feedback city officials receive from Lethbridge residents.
