Lethbridge Exhibition donates more than $5000 to Therapeutic Riding Association

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge and District Exhibition is donating $5,332.87 to the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association.

The donation is part of the 2022 Lethbridge and District Exhibition Lotteries program. The program included a 50/50 lottery held in 2022, with the winning ticket holder, Judi Slusar, winning $19,585.

The Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association opened in 1976 to help people with different disabilities through horse riding and animal care.

Mike Warkentin, chief executive officer, Lethbridge and District Exhibition says, “Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association was a valued partner with a shared vision for communitiy collaboration and philanthropy. We are honoured to give back to the community through a program that changes lives and creates impactful life-long experiences for the Albertans who benefit from it.”

Jason Shriner, executive director, Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association says, “The partnership between Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association and Lethbridge and District Exhibition highlights the historic and present strengths of each organization that build strong connections between rural and urban communities in southern Alberta. The funds raised through the lottery program directly support our front-line work with therapy horses, allowing our most vulnerable citizens the desperately needed reconnection to nature that we all crave and need for healthy living.”

Details about the 2023 Lethbridge and District Exhibition Lotteries program will be announced in February 2023.
