Alberta RCMP investigating death of infant as homicide
HIGH PRAIRIE, AB – RCMP in a northern Alberta community are investigating the sudden death of a seven-month-old boy.
On Thursday, October 6, 2022, RCMP received a report from High Prairie Hospital regarding the sudden death of an infant at a residence in High Prairie, Alberta.
An autopsy was conducted on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Chief Medical Examiner’s office in Edmonton. The autopsy report determined that the infant’s manner of death was the result of a homicide.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and is working alongside High Prairie RCMP, Alberta RCMP Forensic Identification Services, and the Western Alberta District RCMP General Investigation Section.
