Coaldale celebrates upgrades to Wastewater Treatment Facility
COALDALE, AB – The Town of Coaldale celebrated a significant infrastructure upgrade this week.
On Thursday, October 13, 2022, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held in the town to mark the grand re-opening of the updated wastewater treatment facility.
The facility was initially built in 1970 as a conventional lagoon and then upgraded to an aerated lagoon in 1984. It was last updated in 2005, when it received substantial aeration and liner enhancements.
The town stated that with the adoption of new wastewater effluent regulations by the federal government over the last decade, combined with the need to expand Coaldale’s current facility to accommodate future growth, upgrading the site was a high priority.
