LETHBRIDGE, AB – It will soon be determined whether or not a Lethbridge man is mentally fit to stand trial.

In Lethbridge Provincial Court on Monday, October 17, 2022, lawyers spoke to the matter of an alleged domestic assault.

They ordered a psychiatric assessment for a 59-year-old man, who cannot be named due to his connection to the victim.

He is charged with attempted murder, uttering threats causing death or bodily harm, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and assault – choking, suffocating, or strangling.

The man was arrested on September 23, 2022, following an alleged assault in south Lethbridge.
