$1 million grant to support public safety research at Lethbridge College
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge College has received the largest grant for social sciences research in its history.
The Government of Canada has awarded the post-secondary school $1 million over five years from the Mobilize program, which will kickstart the college’s public safety applied research program.
Lethbridge College President of Applied Research Chair in Public Safety Dr. Kirsten Fantazir will lead research efforts at Lethbridge College.
She says researchers at the college will engage with industry partners across policing, corrections, courts, and community service providers to undertake research projects aimed at strengthening policing and public safety.
