LETHBRIDGE, AB – Residents of Lethbridge will have a little less than two weeks to drop their yard waste off.

The City of Lethbridge says Sunday, November 13, 2022, will be the last day to utilize their yard waste sites for the season. The facilities will temporarily close on Monday, November 14.

There are three yard waste drop-off sites in the city, each of which will remain open from 9:00 am to 7:00 p.m. every day until the seasonal closure:

  • Bridge Drive West Recycling Station – at the top of Bridge Drive West hill, right before the junction of Bridge Drive West and University Drive
  • Stafford Drive North Recycling Station – at the junction of Stafford Drive North and Scenic Drive North
  • South Side Recycling Station – located on 28 Avenue South between the Lethbridge Soccer Complex and Lethbridge Judo Club

So far this year, these site have collected a total of 1,957,520 kilograms of yard waste, ensuring they are diverted from the landfill.

Grass, leaves, and garden waste collected at the yard waste sites are composted at the Waste & Recycling Centre and used in City of Lethbridge parks and for ground remediation at the landfill.

Clean pumpkins that weigh less than 25 pounds and have no paint or glitter can also be disposed of at yard waste sites.

Once the yard waste sites close for the season, residents can still bring these materials to the Waste & Recycling Centre for composting. No disposal fees are charged on Sundays.

Alternatively, residents can utilize the City of Lethbridge’s fall leaf collection program until Thursday, November 10. You can schedule a free pickup by calling 311 during business hours.
