RCMP investigating fatal collision south of Lethbridge

WELLING, AB – Coaldale RCMP says a collision on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 resulted in the death of one person.

Officers were called to the intersection of Highway 5 and Township Road 72, approximately 12 kilometres south of Lethbridge shortly before 8:00 a.m. Wednesday.

A 67-year-old woman from Welling was reported deceased at the scene.

RCMP officials say the early investigation revealed that a northbound truck collided with a southbound semi truck.

Highway 5 was closed for several hours while RCMP and a traffic analyst investigated the collision.
