Two in Taber charged with drug trafficking offences

TABER, AB – The Taber Police Service (TPS) has apprehended a pair of people on drug-related charges.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022, officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 5000 block of 43 Avenue in Taber.

Police say they seized over 28 grams combined of cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and psilocybin.

TPS also confiscated $1,200 in cash, three firearms, drug paraphernalia, and chemicals used in the production of crack cocaine.

Donald Frederick Bourassa, 45, and Elise Karyn Bourassa, 31, both of Taber, were arrested.

Both face three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count each of production of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property, and unauthorized possession of firearms.

Following a bail hearing, Donald Bourassa was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court on November 10, 2022.

Elisa Bourassa was released from custody and will appear in Taber Provincial Court on December 6, 2022.
