Crash on QEII near Carstairs claims life of Red Deer resident

RED DEER, AB – A Red Deer resident has died in a crash early Saturday morning on the QEII Highway.
The RCMP stated that at about 6:13 a.m. on November 12, 2022, members from the Didsbury detachment received a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle in the southbound lanes, just north of Highway 581 near Carstairs.
Upon arrival, emergency crews located a deceased male who had been hit by a vehicle, which remained on scene. The deceased has been identified as a 25-year-old from Red Deer.
Officers remained on scene while a traffic analyst attended to assist with the investigation. At approximately 10:30 a.m., regular traffic flow resumed.
