More than 120 charges laid following Lethbridge property crimes investigation

LETHBRIDGE, AB – UPDATE: On Monday, November 21, 2022, the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) confirmed that one of the suspects, Jeremy Mackenzie Toth, 36, has been arrested. A warrant for Toth’s arrest had previously been issued.

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has charged four people in connection to an alleged standoff with police and a variety of other alleged offences.

On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, officers initiated an investigation that lead them to a home on the 4500 block of 28 Avenue South. A man was reportedly involved in a standoff that lasted for three hours.

The Critical Incident Response Team was deployed and the 36-year-old suspect eventually surrendered.

Another five people were arrested at the home, but three were released without charges.

Search warrants were executed at the home and at a north Lethbridge storage facility.

LPS says they recovered seven firearms and a variety of other stolen property that was determined to have been stolen during recent break and enters. Officers also confiscated 19 grams of fentanyl and two stolen vehicles.

Donovan James Holmberg, 36, of Lethbridge, is charged and remains in custody. He is charged with:

• Seven counts each of careless use/storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowingly possessing a firearm, and possession of a firearm/weapon obtained by crime.
• Three counts each of failing to comply with a release order.
• Break and enter to steal firearms.
• Possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Camron Leo Rasmussen, 27, of Coleman, is charged and remains in custody. He is charged with:

• Seven counts each of careless use/storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowingly possessing a firearm and possession of a firearm/weapon obtain by crime.
• Three counts each of failing to comply with a release order.
• Break and enter to steal firearms.
• Possession of stolen property.
• Possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.
• Possession of a controlled substance.
• Failing to comply with an undertaking.

Taylor Shae Knapp-Johnson, 23, of Lethbridge, is charged and has been released from custody on a promise to appear in court. She is charged with:

• Possession of a controlled substance.

A warrant has been issued for Jeremy Mackenzie Toth, 36, of Lethbridge. He is charged with:

• Seven counts each of careless use/storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowingly possessing a firearm and possession of a firearm/weapon obtain by crime.
• Three counts each of failing to comply with an undertaking.
• Break and enter to steal firearms.
• Failing to comply with a release order.
