TABER, AB – The Taber Police Service (TPS) says two people were apprehended after allegedly fleeing from police.

At approximately 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2022, TPS responded to a complaint about a suspicious vehicle that was seen on the private property of a business.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver allegedly fled through residential areas at a high rate of speed. The vehicle reportedly left the community westbound.

TPS says “a pursuit was not initiated for public safety.”

Approximately one hour later, the vehicle was located in Coaldale after being involved in a collision. The driver and passenger were arrested on scene.

Charges are pending against the driver, a 32-year-old man from Lethbridge. The pending charges include flight from police, dangerous driving, trespassing, and multiple other traffic violations.

Charges are also pending against the passenger, a 31-year-old woman from Lethbridge. The pending charges include failure to comply with a probation order and trespassing.

Both suspects are scheduled to appear in Taber court on December 13, 2022. TPS says their names have not been released at this time as charges have not been officially sworn in.
