Lethbridge Police investigating vandalism at downtown transit terminal

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is searching for several people that it says broke into the Lethbridge Regional Park ‘n’ Ride Transit Terminal and caused damages.

At approximately 4:26 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, police were informed of a break and enter at the facility on the 700 block of 5 Avenue South.

They say several people gained entry by prying open an entrance on the southeast side of the building.

Upon the arrival of officers, multiple people who were inside allegedly fled from police.

LPS says in a media release that “A significant quantity of garbage and debris had been strewn about the main lobby and every entrance, vending machines were smashed open and emptied, and a vehicle on the third level had a window smashed.”

One suspect was arrested and several others have been identified.

The investigation is ongoing. At this time, no charges have been laid.
