$51K worth of drugs confiscated in Lethbridge bust

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A Lethbridge man is charged in connection to alleged drug trafficking activities.

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) says it conducted a targeted traffic stop in the 300 block of 3 Street South on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

The driver was arrested without incident.

Officers searched the vehicle and claim to have seized approximately 193 grams of methamphetamine, 88 grams of fentanyl, 135 grams of cocaine, seven grams of crack cocaine, and $1,520 in cash.

LPS says the combined street value of the drugs is around $51,000.

Jeffrey Steven Martens, 54, of Lethbridge, is charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of the proceeds of crime, and one count of failing to comply with an undertaking. In addition to the charges, Martens also had multiple outstanding warrants.

He remains in custody and is awaiting a bail hearing.
