LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have announced another roster move.

The Western Hockey League (WHL) team has acquired a sixth-round pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft from the Prince George Cougars.

In exchange, the Cougars are getting 2004-born defenseman Ross Stanley from the Hurricanes.

The 18-year-old was originally acquired by the Lethbridge team from the Prince Alberta Raiders in December 2021, along with forward Tyson Laventure. From Edson, Alberta, Stanley appeared in 25 games over parts of two seasons with the Hurricanes. He totalled four assists, along with 16 penalty minutes and a plus-five rating.

In 17 games this season with Lethbridge, Stanley has recorded four assists and four penalty minutes. In total, he has appeared in 62 career WHL games with the Hurricanes, Raiders and Edmonton Oil Kings.

With this latest move, the Lethbridge Hurricanes have a total of 22 players on their roster, including 12 forwards, seven defensemen and three goaltenders.

The team is back in action on Friday, December 9, 2022. They host the Medicine Hat Tigers at 7:00 p.m. at the ENMAX Centre for the Canadian Tire Toque and Teddy Toss Game.
