Shakespeare Meets Dickens – December 21

The Lethbridge Shakespeare Performance Society is pulling together a holiday show of Shakespearian proportion at CASA on Wednesday, December 21. From 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., performers will take the stage to perform a combination of styles by Charles Dickens and William Shakespeare in a reader’s version of A Christmas Carol, accompanied by music from local talent. Tickets are $25 at the CASA reception and include Victorian-styled treats.

Elf Trivia Night and Gingerbread Contest – December 21

Will Ferrell’s film ‘Elf’ has become a holiday classic for many during Christmas, but how well do you know the movie? On Wednesday, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., head down to the Canadian Brewhouse for a night of trivia and games based off of ‘Elf’. Teams will be tested on five rounds of questions, while simultaneously partaking in a gingerbread-making contest. There are prizes to be won for the winning teams, and tickets are still available on the Eventbrite website.

Christmas 1965: A Charlie Brown Christmas and Ventures Christmas Live – December 22

The Slice Bar and Grill hosts a night of live holiday sounds straight out of the 60s. Enjoy the full album performances of both ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ and ‘The Ventures’ Christmas’ performed by local artists, TJ Waltho, Aaron Trozzo, Paul Holden, and Brad Brouwer. The show starts at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday with tickets available at the door.

The Live Nativity Pageant – December 22 – 24

Happening over three days from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host a free outdoor performance. Running every 20 minutes, the church will welcome The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square to entertain guests parking in the west parking lot. Those interested can see it for themselves at 4105 Forestry Ave. South.

Holiday Heater – Fundraising Concert/ Warm Clothing Drive – December 23

Head on down to the Owl Acoustic Lounge on Friday for a night of live music. Starting at 6:30 p.m., local artists will be taking the stage to fundraise for Sage Clan. Donations of warm clothing like coats, gloves, scarves and toques are encouraged. Expect performances from Foster Dollis, Bailey Kate, Zach Passey, Monroe Fox and MomBuds.

Christmas on the Farm: Lethbridge Corn Maze – Multiple dates in December

Check out the Lethbridge Corn Maze this weekend for a full-on holiday display at the farm. Enjoy Christmas lights, hayrides, bonfires, petting zoos, ziplines, a gift shop, and of course, a maze. The Corn Maze is open Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with some additional dates added throughout the month. Tickets can be purchased at the farm, and more information can be found on the Lethbridge Corn Maze website.

Blockbuster: New West Theatre – Multiple dates in December

New West Theatre has gathered its ensemble cast to put on its final performance of 2022. Blockbuster is set to hit the stage for a number of dates at the Yates Memorial Centre from December 14 to 31, 2022. The troupe will perform songs and musical numbers from films, while incorporating sketch comedy. Tickets can be purchased directly on the New West Theatre website, the ENMAX Centre website, or at the Yates Memorial Centre box office.

Winter Light Festival at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden – Multiple dates in December

From now until February 26, 2023, guests can see light and ice sculpture displays while learning about Japanese culture and traditions at the Winter Light Festival at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden in Lethbridge. Tickets are available Thursday through Sunday, with additional passes available for the Kamakura [Igloo] Dome Experience or the Basha Nori [Horse and Wagon Rides].
