Two Fort Macleod residents arrested following warrant roundup

FORT MACLEOD, AB – Two people have been arrested by the RCMP in Fort Macleod.

The detachment said that on December 21, 2022, officers conducted an ongoing warrant roundup operation. As a result, police located and arrested two prolific offenders in the community.

Blake Edward Nahachewski, a 37-year-old resident of Fort Macleod, was arrested on outstanding warrants for the following:

  • Fail to attend court
  • Fail to comply with conditions of court order
  • Drive uninsured motor vehicle

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old resident of Fort Macleod, Robert Harry Taggart, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for:

  • Fraud under $5,000

Acting Detachment Commander, Corporal Paul Bedard stated, “Fort Macleod RCMP members will continue proactive operations to ensure released offenders are in compliance with Court Orders and held accountable when not.”

Bedard added, “This arrest is another example of effective policing and another step towards community safety and well-being.”

Both accused were held for a judicial interim hearing and have been released with future court appearances. The RCMP did not specify when those court appearances would be.
