Keith Broadbent to be inducted into BILD Lethbridge Region Hall of Fame

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A local business owner is being recognized for his contributions to the community.

The Building Industry & Land Development Association (BILD) Lethbridge Region is inducting Keith Broadbent into its Hall of Fame.

Broadbent is the president and founder of KB Heating Plumbing & Air Conditioning and says it is an honour to receive such a high level of distinction from BILD.

The company is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2023, originally starting out only as an H-VAC company in 1983.

In the years that followed, the business continued to grow. Broadbent says he could not have gotten KB Heating Plumbing & Air Conditioning to where it is today on his own.

“We’ve got quite a few of our staff that’ve been with us 10 years-plus, lots that have been with us 20 years-plus,” says Broadbent. “I would attribute a lot of our success to the fact that our staff are very good people. They’ve grown with us from a small company of one-to-two people to, you know, we average 100-to-125 people per year.”

BILD Lethbridge President Dave Kunst says Broadbent and KB Heating Plumbing & Air Conditioning has deserved every award they have won over the last 40 years and have earned this recognition as well.

“The residential construction industry, and the BILD membership specifically, boasts the most incredible leaders and we are proud to welcome Keith Broadbent to the Hall of Fame,” says Kunst. “His contributions to the industry and the association spans 40 years. A great business, generous corporate citizen, and proud industry member – that is Keith and that is KB Heating.”

BILD Lethbridge also wanted to spotlight KB Heating Plumbing & Air Conditioning for the work it has done to support community initiatives.

Broadbent says the company helped to create a new training facility at Lethbridge College for plumbers. Before that, he tells LNN that prospective plumbers would have to go to Calgary for their education.

His business is also a regular sponsor of minor hockey and ringette leagues.

Broadbent will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the BILD Lethbridge Region’s Awards of Excellence in Housing Gala, which takes place February 10, 2023.
