Community Conversation with the City of Lethbridge – January 18

Residents of Lethbridge looking to provide feedback or connect with the City of Lethbridge can do so at the ENMAX Centre this week. On Wednesday, January 18, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., more than 25 City programs and services will be on display, like the curbside organics program, and snow and ice control. The ‘Community Conversation’ event is free for all to attend and will include free public skating. For more details on this event, head to the City of Lethbridge website.

Alberta Canola Conference at Sandman Signature Lodge – January 17-18

Lethbridge is set to host an agriculture event solely focused on canola this week that’s set to bring members from Alberta Canola together. It also brings in national partners like the Canola Council of Canada and Canadian Canola Growers Association. The conference will feature sessions on farm policy, canola agronomy and other interactive presentations. Registration for this event can be done online through the Alberta Canola website.

State of the City Breakfast with Mayor Blaine Hyggen – January 19

Lethbridge Mayor, Blaine Hyggen, will be making his second State of the City address this week at the Coast Hotel and Convention Centre. Hyggen is set to discuss a variety of issues and topics and share details on work that council has done for the city since taking office. The address will begin at 7:30 a.m. and run throughout the morning.

Celtic Routes LIVE Show at Theoretically Brewing Company – January 19

If you’re interested in jigging along to the sounds of traditional Celtic music in Lethbridge, you’re in luck. The band Celtic Routes will be at Theoretically Brewing Company on Thursday to share songs and stories from Ireland, Scotland and Canada’s East coast. This is an all-ages event, with the cover charge under a ‘pay what you can’ model. The doors open at 6:00 p.m. on January 19.

Drunk Improv at Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club – January 19

Impromptou by Theatre Outre will be taking over Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club this week for a night of “Drunk Improv”. Cast members will be putting on a risque, 18-plus show reminiscent of the popular television series, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”. The audience will be able to share their suggestions for scenarios to help move the show along, and prizes will be available. Tickets for this show can be purchased online at the Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club website.

Alberta Food and Beverage Expo at Exhibition Park – January 21

On Saturday, guests 18-years-old and over can sample hundreds of wines, beers, cocktails and food from Lethbridge restaurants and local suppliers at the Alberta Food and Beverage Expo. This year, the event will feature over 120 vendors, and tickets are still available at the Eat Drink Alberta website.

Fight Night 17 at ENMAX Centre – January 21

Z Promotions will be hosting another Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event this weekend at the ENMAX Centre. Numerous fighters from North America are set to hop into the cage for a night of Pro-MMA. Tickets for this event can be found online at the ENMAX Centre website.

Festival Square Ice Rink – Open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Looking to hit the ice this January? Festival Square’s free outdoor ice rink is still open every day in the new year. Community members are encouraged to come out, strap on their skates and follow the rules of the rink. Helmets and protective gear are strongly recommended.

Winter Light Festival at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden – Multiple dates in January

From now until February 26, 2023, guests can see light and ice sculpture displays while learning about Japanese culture and traditions at the Winter Light Festival at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden in Lethbridge. Tickets are available Thursday through Sunday, with additional passes available for the Kamakura [Igloo] Dome Experience or the Basha Nori [Horse and Wagon Rides].
