LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services (AHS) says a network outage on Monday, January 23, 2023 has been fixed and services are coming back.

These services includes Health Link 811, Connect Care and electronic medical records, and community and hospital lab services.

AHS says it is contacting and will re-book any patients impacted by the outage, adding urgent and emergency surgeries continued on Monday.

AHS added in a news release that a third party will review what happened.

β€œIt is imperative that we understand what happened [Monday] so that it does not happen again. I would like to thank Albertans for their patience, as well as the teams involved in getting our systems back up and running,” stated Dr. John Cowell, official administrator for AHS.

AHS went on to say that the third-party review will look at the cause of the outage and any improvements that would prevent something like this from happening again. AHS noted that there is no indication that this was done by hackers or was a cyber-attack.
