Police investigating after local school sustains fire damage

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Police in Lethbridge are investigating after a school in the city sustained fire damage this week.
On Thursday, January 26, 2023 at around 11:51 p.m., the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) responded to an alarm at St. Francis Junior High School along the 300 block of 18 Street South.
Police say officers found a window on the northwest side of the building had been pried open and two windows were slid open on the east side of the building after their locking mechanisms had been tampered with.
The LPS notes that fire and smoke damage was seen inside a total of three rooms of the school.
