LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta artists can now apply for a provincial award.
The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Distinguished Artists Award honours artists who have reached the top of achievement in a wide range of disciplines and who continue to call Alberta home or maintain a strong connection to the province and its artistic scene.
Up to three individuals can be selected for the award. Successful applicants receive a handcrafted medal and a $30,000 award, as well as a two-week residency at the Banff Centre’s Leighton Artist Studios.
The Honourable Salma Lakhani, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta will present the awards at a ceremony in Medicine Hat on Saturday, September 16, 2023.
