Blood Tribe Police seize weapons in drug bust
STANDOFF, AB – The Blood Tribe Police Service has laid charges following a drug bust near Standoff, Alberta.
On February 20, 2023, a search warrant was executed by Blood Tribe Police, with assistance from the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the RCMP Police Dog Services K9 Unit at a residence south of the community of Standoff. A man and a woman were taken into custody.
As a result of the search, police recovered 22 grams of suspected Fentanyl that police say was packaged and ready to sell. Police say they also found two firearms, six replica firearms, a hunting bow, various types of ammunition and 35 edged weapons.
Andy Troy Spear Chief faces a variety of drug and weapons-related charges. He was also arrested on multiple warrants for what police and RCMP describe as “serious offences.”
