Weapons and drugs seized by Blood Tribe Police Service following traffic stop

STANDOFF, AB – A traffic stop by the Blood Tribe Police Service has led to the discovery of weapons and drugs in Standoff.

On February 22, 2023, police conducted a vehicle stop for suspected impaired driving.

Police then arrested and charged the driver under Immediate Roadside Sanctions.

Police say further investigation led to the discovery of a firearm, two grams of suspected Fentanyl, 7.9 grams of suspected Methamphetamine and numerous rounds of ammunition.

Ronald Charles Cutter, 58, from Standoff has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized possession of a firearm, breach of a release order, breach of a prohibition order and driving while under roadside sanction suspension.

Police say Cutter was also found to be wanted on a warrant for an additional five charges.

Cutter was remanded in custody for the purposes of a bail hearing on February 24, 2023.
