UPDATE: Highway 3 re-opens following multi-vehicle collision between Pincher Creek and Lundbreck

PINCHER CREEK, AB – Highway 3 near Cowley has reopened in both directions.

According to first responders in Pincher Creek, the area continues to see blowing snow and slush on the road.

Tire crews remain on the scene and are still working to remove cars involved in a multi-vehicle collision that happened just before 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

Motorists are asked to use caution while passing emergency workers.

PINCHER CREEK, AB – A single lane on Hwy 3 has re-opened to alternating traffic following a multi-vehicle collision this morning.

According to 511, crews remain on the scene and speed has been reduced to protect first responders on the road.

Motorists are asked to drive with caution in the area.

Clean-up on the accident continues but no further updates have been provided.

PINCHER CREEK, AB – A portion of Highway 3 is temporarily closed to a multi-vehicle collision.

511 Alberta reports that the collision occurred just before 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

The agency reports that both directions of Highway 3 from Pincher Station to Burmis are shut down as excessive whiteout conditions and blowing snow is impacting the area.

According to the Pincher Creek RCMP, multiple first responders are on the scene and people are asked to avoid the area for the time being.
