Lethbridge Hurricanes sign Luke Cozens
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have signed forward Luke Cozens to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement.
The 16-year old forward from Whitehorse, Yukon was drafted in the seventh round (140th overall) in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft. Cozens spent the season on the Yale Hockey Academy U18 Prep team, where he tied for second in team scoring with 39 points, including 15 goals and 24 assists. He also appeared in two games with the affiliated Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the British Columbia Junior-A Hockey League.
Luke’s older brother, Dylan Cozens was a former captain for the Hurricanes, and is a current member of the Buffalo Sabres in the National Hockey League (NHL). From 2016 to 2020, Dylan played in 179 regular season games with the ‘Canes and finished with 223 points. He currently sits at 18th in Hurricanes’ all-time franchise scoring, and top 20 in goals with 95, and assists with 128.
The Hurricanes will travel to Prince Albert to face the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023. The team returns to home ice on Friday, March 10 to play the Regina Pats at 7:00 p.m. at the ENMAX Centre.
