Brain Awareness Week to be celebrated at University of Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Brain Awareness Week takes place this month, and the University of Lethbridge (U of L) will be celebrating the occasion.

The awareness week takes place from Monday, March 13 to Sunday, March 19, 2023. Ahead of this, the U of L is inviting the community to learn more about the brain and the research being done at the Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience (CCBN).

The CCBN will host an open house on Saturday, March 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the U of L. The CCBN is located on the eighth level of the Science Commons building.

Dr. Artur Luczak, a neuroscience professor and Brain Awareness Week speaker said in a news release, β€œThe CCBN is a world-class research facility and we encourage members of the public to visit us and learn about the incredible activities taking place right here in southern Alberta.”

From 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on March 11, Luczak will hold a presentation titled Predictive Neurons: Consciousness and Artificial Intelligence in the Science Commons Atrium.
