Snowfall warning issued for southern Alberta

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Environment Canada is warning residents of a large upcoming snowfall.

The agency issued snowfall warnings for several regions across southern Alberta on Thursday, March 9 2023.

The snowfall warning for Lethbridge-Taber-Milk River states that 10 to 20 centimetres of snow is forecast to fall on Friday, March 10, 2023.

Environment Canada says, “Snow will begin early Friday morning and continue through the day before tapering off Friday night.”

Drivers are urged to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.

“Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop,” says Environment Canada.

In Lethbridge, Environment Canada is calling for a high of minus nine degrees Celsius on Friday and an overnight low of minus 13 with a wind chill of minus 21.
