LETHBRIDGE, AB – Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge (AAC) has appointed a new member to its board of directors.

Jana MacKenzie will re-join the AAC team as the new executive director starting April 3, 2023.

Since 2006, MacKenzie has worked alongside the organization in several roles and was a key member of the team that transitioned AAC operations from the Bowman Arts Centre to the 7 street office and Casa.

After taking a hiatus to pursue other interests, she returned to the AAC in 2021 as the assistant to the executive director, where she has been focused on community engagement and advocacy projects.

The AAC went through an extensive search process to replace outgoing executive director Suzanne Lint, who is retiring after 23 years. According to the AAC, MacKenzie will bring a wealth of knowledge to the role as an ideal replacement.

MacKenzie said, “I am excited by the potential of being part of a major transition within an organization that has been fundamental to my professional and personal life.”

She added, “I am looking forward to working with the AAC team to maintain continuity while also implementing innovative strategies to advance and enhance the arts.”
