LETHBRIDGE, AB – While not an official holiday in Canada, Friday, March 17, is known across the globe as St. Patrick’s Day. There are quite a few events happening in Lethbridge that the community can take part in.

Lethbridge Hurricanes at the ENMAX Centre – March 17, 2023

The Lethbridge Hurricanes play on home ice on Friday, March 17. Fresh off of clinching a spot in the Western Hockey League (WHL) post-season, the Hurricanes will go head-to-head with the Calgary Hitmen starting at 7:00 p.m. at the ENMAX Centre. Tickets are available at the ENMAX Centre website.

St. Patrick’s Day – March 17

The cultural and traditional celebration of St. Patrick’s Day will be held on Friday, March 17, with several events happening over the weekend in Lethbridge.

From 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization will be serving beer, wine and a selection of appetizers.

From 7:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., Braeden Rouse & Robyn Alicia will host a live music jam at Honkers Pub and Eatery.

Beginning at 9:00 p.m., ULeth WILDIN will host a St. Patrick’s Day party at the Canadian Brewhouse with drink specials and live music. Attendees have the chance to win a week-long trip for two to Ireland.

Starting at 9:00 p.m., The Owl Acoustic Lounge will offer green beer and live Celtic music with Junkmans Quire and James Swinney.

Spring Nature Fest at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre – March 17

The Helen Schuler Nature Centre will host a free family festival on March 17 to celebrate the arrival of spring. The centre will offer indoor and outdoor activities from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., which include a nature scavenger hunt, virtual reality experience, water sorting game and more.

TomorrowLove at the University of Lethbridge – March 17 18

Students at the University of Lethbridge will perform a selection of four short plays about love, technology and the future. TomorrowLove will run from March 14 to 18, starting each night at 7:30 p.m. at the David Spinks Theatre. Tickets are available at the University of Lethbridge website.

Addams Family Musical Comedy at Catholic Central High School – March 17 18

Catholic Central High School (CCH) students perform the Addams Family Musical Comedy with multiple dates throughout the month of March. The performance follows the character Wednesday Addams as she falls in love with a normal young man, and how her family deals with the news. Tickets for the show are available on the CCH website.

3rd Annual Fistful of Turns Banked Slalom at Castle Mountain Resort – March 18

Snowboarders are set to hit the slopes at the 3rd Annual Fistful of Turns Banked Slalom at Castle Mountain Resort on Saturday, March 18. The sold-out event will have competitors sliding down a twisty course to score the best single time, in two runs on the Blue Run. The T-Bar will host a free After Apres Party at 9:00 p.m., with DJ Flatspin and Angie Mo.
