Man in stable condition following shooting at west Lethbridge home

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has arrested two people in connection to an alleged assault that took place on Monday, March 20, 2023.

Just before 6:30 a.m., LPS arrived at a home along Rutgers Crescent West after receiving reports that one man was injured.

The victim was subsequently taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound and remains in stable condition.

Following further investigation, police determined that the victim had confronted a woman, who is known to him, along with an unknown man, inside his home

According to police, a brief verbal exchange occurred, and the female suspect allegedly shot the victim before the unknown man reportedly began to physically assault him.

Both suspects reportedly fled in the victim’s truck, which was later discovered just a short distance away.

That afternoon, LPS located and arrested a 38-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man without incident.

While the investigation is ongoing, aggravated assault charges are pending.

LPS indicates an update will be released this afternoon.
