LETHBRIDGE, AB – It’s almost that time of year, when Lethbridge and area residents can stroll through endless vendors at the Lethbridge Farmers’ Market.

The Lethbridge & District Exhibition announced that the annual free event will return to the City of Lethbridge this spring.

Since 1962, the Lethbridge Farmers’ Market has been highlighting the region’s fresh produce, local meat, baked goods, homemade crafts, clothing, art and much more.

The Lethbridge Farmers’ Market consists of two events: the Saturday Market at the Lethbridge & District Exhibition, and the Wednesday Market in Festival Square downtown, which is presented in partnership with the Downtown Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ).

In 2022, the Saturday Lethbridge Farmers’ Market at Lethbridge & District Exhibition welcomed over 57,000 attendees.

Lethbridge & District Exhibition CEO, Mike Warkentin said, “The Farmers’ Market is a community-building event that connects and supports both local businesses and local producers.”

“We’re focused on creating a fun and inclusive atmosphere, where families can wander together and talk directly to the high-quality vendors, all while running into their neighbours and visiting with members of the community. It’s a unique southern Alberta event we are proud to produce.”

This year, the Saturday market at Lethbridge & District Exhibition will begin on June 10, 2023, whereas the Wednesday market in Festival Square will kick off on July 5.

Downtown BRZ marketing and communications manager, Emily Chong said, “We are very happy to welcome back the downtown Farmers’ Market. This annual event provides so much vibrancy and excitement every summer. It is truly a downtown staple and we are excited to welcome back vendors and attendees!”

Local vendor applications are now being accepted online for both venues through the Lethbridge Farmers’ Market website.
