Mobile mammography service to hit Milk River in April

Mar 22, 2023 | 2:41 PM

MILK RIVER, AB – Alberta Health Services (AHS) will bring a mobile mammography trailer to Milk River on April 3 and 4, 2023.

Women aged 45 to 74 are at the most risk of developing breast cancer and this mobile unit will allow for local females to access a screen test in a town where mammography is not readily available.

A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast that has been proven to be the most effective way to detect breast cancer.

Early detection allows for a greater number of options for treatment and a better chance of survival.

Appointments are required and can be booked online or by calling 1-800-667-0604.

The mobile trailer will be parked for two days at Prairie Rose Lodge, 117 3 Ave. NW, North side of lodge, off 4th Ave.
