Made in Alberta labelling now available for local foods
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Government of Alberta has rolled out a new way of helping local companies in the agriculture and food sectors make their products stand out.
Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Nate Horner said Alberta producers and processors can take advantage of voluntary “Made in Alberta” labelling.
“This new voluntary label celebrates the safe, high-quality agricultural and food products that Alberta is known for here and around the globe,” said Horner. “It will help consumers more easily identify Alberta products so they know their hard-earned dollars will stay in our province and support other Alberta families.”
The labelling program will be administrated by the Alberta Food Processors Association (AFPA).
