LETHBRIDGE, AB – Game two of the first-round playoff series between the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Moose Jaw has gone to the Warriors.

At the Moose Jaw Events Centre on Saturday, April 1, 2023, the Canes fell 5-1.

The Warriors were the only team to make it onto the scoreboard in the first two periods, picking up one goal each in the first period by Atley Calvert and in the second by Ryder Korczak.

A third point was registered by Moose Jaw at the 11:18 mark in the third by Lucan Brenton before the Lethbridge Hurricanes got their first goal about two minutes later. Anton Astashevich hit the net for the Canes on a power play with assists from Brayden Edwards and Tyson Zimmer.

The Warriors retaliated with another two goals before the end of the game.

The Canes were outshot 34-22 in their losing effort.

Moose Jaw also won the series opener the night before 2-1 after going into double overtime.

Lethbridge has an opportunity for retribution as the series makes its way to Alberta for games three and four.

Those contests take place at the ENMAX Centre at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 4 and 5, 2023.
