LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Calgary Police Service (CPS) continues to investigate the death of 25-year-old, Brianna Shelby Kristjanson of Okotoks.

On April 17, 2023, officers responded to reports of a woman’s body that had been found in the alley behind the 700 block of 40 Street S.E. in Calgary.

Police believe that the victim’s death occurred at another location and that her body was transported to the alley in Forest Heights.

An autopsy was completed on April 19 and investigators are awaiting further testing.

Currently, her manner of death remains undetermined, and officials continue to investigate whether Kristjanson’s death was criminal in nature.

Staff Sergeant Sean Gregson of the Homicide Unit said, “While we have received information from the public, we still have a lot of unanswered questions.”

He stated, “We continue to ask for the public’s help from anyone who may have recently been with Kristjanson, or for any dashcam or CCTV footage from the area so that we can establish an investigative timeline as well as determine how she ended up in the alley.”

Kristjanson grew up in Lethbridge and went to Winston Churchill High School.

An obituary for Kristjanson can be found on the Salmon and Sons Funeral Home website.

A private family service will be held at a later date, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Diabetes Canada.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police by calling 403-266-1234 or submitting an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
