LETHBRIDGE, AB – It’s set to be another busy week full of events in Lethbridge.

Frank Slide: 120 Years at the Lethbridge Public Library – April 25, 2023

On Tuesday, the Lethbridge Historical Society (LHS) will discuss the 120th anniversary of the Frank Slide. LHS members will be joined by author and historian Stephanie Laine Hamilton to commemorate the event. The evening begins with a brief Society business meeting at 6:30 p.m., and the presentation begins at the Lethbridge Public Library at 6:40 p.m., followed by a Q&A.

Lethbridge: Sip + Swap – April 25

Wine, Women & Well-Being is holding a ladies clothing swap Tuesday night at Mojo’s Pub. Ticket holders will bring a bag of gently used clothing to swap with other patrons attending, while mingling and enjoying a woman-empowered evening. Personal Style Coach, Sullivan Wittrock will be in attendance to help ladies create their own personal style, feel confident in what they wear, and answer any questions about clothing, body image and more. Tickets for Sip + Swap can be found on Eventbrite.

Owl Poetry Open Mic – April 26

Head on down to the Owl Acoustic Lounge on Wednesday for a night of live poetry. Community members are encouraged to stop by from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to share their work or listen to those who take the stage. This regular event helps showcase local talents. Admission for the event is free.

All The Time Everywhere at The Slice Bar and Grill – April 26

Banff skate punk band, All The Time Everywhere, will make their way to The Slice Bar and Grill on Wednesday on their 2023 spring tour. Joining them is Lethbridge’s Switched Off, playing a mix of alternative and grunge music. Doors for the show open at 8:00 p.m., and tickets can be purchased at the show.

Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization Live Well Showcase – April 27-28

This week, the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization (LSCO) will host a Live Well Showcase on Thursday and Friday. The free event features all the aspects of “active aging” with over 70 exhibitors and four speakers. The Live Well Showcase will go over items such as preventing Alzheimer’s, avoiding real estate problems, and fraud prevention tips. The event will take place at the LSCO from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Open Mic Karaoke Night at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden – April 27

The Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden will host its first ever open mic karaoke night this week. On Thursday between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., guests can head to the Bunka Centre to sing their heart out at this free event.

Will Hannigan at Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club – April 28-29

The Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club will present Will Hannigan on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29. Hailing from Edmonton, the 23-year-old comedian has been traveling across Canada performing nightly in bars. Tickets for the show can be purchased on the Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club website.

Lethbridge Handmade Market: Spring Edition – April 29

The Lethbridge Handmade Market returns to Exhibition Park this weekend for another edition of its spring market. From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., guests can browse from over 120 vendors, including Bootsma Bakery, Hey Dough Cookie Co., Head in the Clouds Collages, Mac and Custard, Willow and Oak and Wren Wild Candle Co. Admission is $6 and kids under 14 are free.

Symphony Soiree: Springtime in Paris – April 29

The Lethbridge Symphony will host a springtime concert from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Sandman Signature Lodge. The annual gala and fundraiser includes a silent auction with chic entertainment and French cuisine. Tickets for the event can be purchased through the Lethbridge Symphony box office at (403) 328-6808 ext. 101.
