LETHBRIDGE, AB – An annual food drive campaign is set to get underway next month, and organizers hope to get prepared in advance.

The Lethbridge Food Bank and Interfaith Food Bank will hold the Target Hunger campaign on Saturday, June 2, 2023.

The initiative sees yellow “Target Hunger” bags distributed to homes throughout Lethbridge. Residents are encouraged to fill the bags with non-perishable food items.

For the 2023 campaign, the goal is to collect 50,000 pounds of food.

The food banks said in a news release, “As this is a city wide event, we are looking for volunteers to help us drop off and collect our yellow bags throughout the city.”

Each volunteer will be assigned a route somewhere in the city that can see them go to up to 150 homes. Each volunteer party must have access to a vehicle and sign up to sort food on event day.

Volunteers can sign up on the Target Hunger Lethbridge website, sending an email to targethunger.volunteer@gmail.com, or calling either of the food banks.
