LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge College Kodiaks women’s volleyball team has added a new name to its roster. Brooke Beste has signed with the post-secondary team for next season.

The outside hitter from Catholic Central High School is currently playing for the Panthers Volleyball Club near Coaldale.

Head coach of the Kodiaks, Anna Schwark said, “Brooke understands how to use her toolbelt and make opponents really work hard on defence when she is attacking.”

“This has been a real strength of hers for a few years now, and that’s a big reason why we decided she was an athlete we wanted to start recruiting.”

Beste credits her Gilbert Paterson Middle School coach Danny Lam with helping her to achieve success on the volleyball court. She said, “He taught me how to become a mentally strong individual.”

She said playing for the Kodiaks will be a dream come true for her. Beste remarked, “Ever since I was a little girl, I used to watch the Kodiaks play and always dreamed of being on the court with them So now I can pursue that dream and play with them.”

Beste plans to study in Lethbridge College’s Therapeutic Recreation – Gerontology program.
