Nominations open for MP Rachael Thomas’ Community Builder Awards
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Member of Parliament (MP) for Lethbridge, Rachael Thomas, has opened nominations for her 2023 Community Builder Awards.
Residents of Lethbridge and Lethbridge County can invite anyone who strives to make a positive impact in their community. In years past, this has included community volunteers, farmers, foster parents, teachers, artists, athletes, social workers, emergency responders and more.
The awards include four different categories: youth leader, community leader, not-for-profit leader, and business leader. Recipients will be chosen by a panel of community members.
There will be a ceremony to present the awards in the fall.
Thomas said in a news release, “Every spring, I put out a call for nominations and receive many heart-warming stories of individuals, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations who freely give of their time, talent, and resources to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.”
She added, “These folks don’t expect to be acknowledged or honoured in any way. They serve selflessly for the sake of others. It’s remarkable. I look forward to celebrating them.”
The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, June 16, 2023. Nomination forms are available at the office of Rachael Thomas (255 – 8 Street S., Lethbridge) or online.
