Two charged with theft, possession in Pincher Creek

PINCHER CREEK, AB – Two people, including one from Lethbridge, are facing possession and theft charges in Pincher Creek.

On May 10, 2023, the Pincher Creek RCMP detachment received a call regarding the theft of power tools in the town. After speaking to witnesses, police arrested two suspects and allegedly seized fentanyl and methamphetamine. The property that had been reported stolen was recovered and returned to the owner.

Nelson Koci, 30, of Pincher Creek, has been charged with possession of a schedule one substance and possession of stolen property. Koci is scheduled to appear in court on June 22, 2023.

Carter Rains, 30, of Lethbridge, is charged with obstruction of a police officer, identity fraud, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Rains currently has a warrant out for his arrest. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pincher Creek RCMP at 403-627-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
