LETHBRIDGE, AB – A career day for those considering a job in law enforcement is being held on Friday, May 19, 2023.

The event, held at the Lethbridge College gym, is a collaboration between the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS), Blood Tribe Police Service (BTPS) and RCMP.

The career day is open to the public and will provide information about each agency, the application process to become a police officer, and will have demonstrations from the K9 Unit.

Constable Allison Williams with LPS highlighted the event as a great opportunity to bring more people to the Lethbridge area, where all three agencies are hiring.

Williams added, β€œFor us specifically, we have an open application until November 30, 2023, and we are hoping to put a class though early next year for 10 to 12 applicants.”

Participants will also have an opportunity to run the Alberta Physical Readiness Evaluation for Police (APREP) fitness test at the fair.

The event marks the first time the three agencies have teamed up for a collective recruitment initiative, and will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
