LETHBRIDGE, AB – A Calgary man charged in connection to events at the Coutts border protest has had one of the charges against him stayed.

Lawyers spoke on behalf of Calgary’s Artur Pawlowski in Lethbridge Provincial Court on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Crown prosecutor Steven Johnston asked for a stay of proceedings on one count of destroying essential infrastructure without lawful right under the Alberta Critical Infrastructure Defence Act.

On May 2, 2023, Pawlowski was found guilty of one count each of mischief and breaching a release order.

The crown and defence said they are waiting for a pre-sentence report to be completed on those matters.

Pawlowski is next set to appear in court on August 9, 2023, although the court said that date could be moved depending on when the report is completed.
