City of Lethbridge begins Phase 1 of road milling and re-paving

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Motorists are asked to drive with caution and slow down, as certain roads in Lethbridge will be impacted due to annual maintenance.

The City of Lethbridge is informing residents that Phase One of the road maintenance program will begin Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

Maintenance includes road milling and paving in several areas across the city.

Sections of the Phase One arterial, collector and local roads include:

  • 28 Street North Southbound between 12 and 14 Avenue North
  • 12 Avenue North between 27 and 28 Street North
  • 27 Street North between 12 and 14 Avenue North
  • 20 Avenue South along all Lakeside Road South
  • 36 Street South along 23 Avenue South
  • All Cedar place South
  • Ventura Crescent North between 6 Street and 12 Avenue North
  • 5 Avenue North Eastbound between 36 Street and 41 Street North
  • 5 Avenue North Eastbound between 29 Street and 31 Street North
  • 5 Avenue North Westbound between 41 Street and 39 Street North
  • 5 Avenue North Westbound between 36 Street and 33 Street North
  • 23 Street North between 5 Avenue and 8a Avenue North
  • 24 Street South between 11 Avenue and 12 Avenue South

According to the city, maintenance ensures that roads continue to be in appropriate driving condition for motorists throughout the year.

Lane reductions and road closures have been planned to limit the impact to traffic, but motorists may still experience minor delays
