LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have bolstered their roster, signing one of their 2023 draft picks to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement.

Chase Petersen, a 2008-born forward, was selected with the first pick in the second round (23rd overall) of the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft in May. Petersen led the Swift Current Broncos U15 AA team with 69 points (27 goals, 42 assists) in 29 games, while chipping in 13 points in four postseason matchups.

His 69 points put him ninth in regular season scoring in the SAAHL U15 league.

He is the first player from the Hurricanes’ draft class to sign a WHL contract.
