Fort Macleod man facing drug and weapons charges

FORT MACLEOD, AB – A man has been charged following an RCMP search in Fort Macleod.

On June 1, 2023, the RCMP Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU) executed a search warrant at a home in Fort Macleod.

The warrant and investigation were the result of collaborations between Fort Macleod RCMP, RCMP Police Dog Services and the Blood Tribe Police Service Drug Task Force (BTPS).

Officers searched the residence, and seized the following items:

  • Five ounces of suspected methamphetamine
  • Eight ounces of suspected psilocybin
  • Three ounces of suspected cocaine
  • One ounce of suspected fentanyl
  • 150ml of GHB
  • Six tasers
  • Two brass knuckles
  • CS gas

Carl Zehanoviz, 39, of Fort Macleod, faces multiple drug possession and prohibited weapons charges. He was released on a release order with conditions, and is schedule to appear in court in Fort Macleod on June 21, 2023.
