LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) said a man was taken into custody following what it described as a “high-risk incident.”

On Friday, June 9, 2023, LPS executed a search warrant at a home on the 1700 block of 16 Avenue South. Police had received a tip that a person was selling ammunition at their home despite having a lifetime firearms prohibition.

Officers claim to have confiscated various quantities of ammunition, replica firearms, a lock-pick set, and key cut devices from the residence.

Mark Lawrence Kimura of Lethbridge is charged with possession of ammunition while prohibited from doing so, offering to transfer a firearm while not authorized to do so, and possession of break and enter tools.

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on June 16, 2023.
